Tyn Y Fron Cottage

Belinda and Alan are your hosts and neighbours at Tyn Y Fron Cottage. Having been working in education sector for more than twenty years by offering academic and hospitality services for executives, we have decided to make a huge change and move to the Snowdonia National Park. In 2022 we bought Tyn Y Fron which comprises a 5* B&B and self-catering holiday cottage and now have converted the former B&B main house to a self-catering country house whilst keeping the holiday cottage.

Having moved in March before Easter holiday, it was a baptism of fire and learning on the job. The first two months have just been acting like swans gliding along whilst paddling madly under the water. With two bedrooms, the cottage sleeps four (5 with a cot) and is available throughout the year. The normal changeover day for weekly stays is Friday. Short breaks of three or four night stays are available in low season, starting on Friday or Monday respectively.

Tyn Y Fron is set in a beautiful garden of nearly an acre which is enjoyed by guests staying in the cottage and the country house. You will have use of a private patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ to cook those al fresco meals that make a holiday so special. You are also welcome to use all of the garden including the deck area which catches all the afternoon and evening sun.

We know how important it is to take the whole family on holiday including your canine friends. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement so they can enjoy all the area has to offer with you. Our only request is that you do not allow them in the bedrooms or leave them unattended in the cottage. In order to complete the additional cleaning necessary for the benefit of the next guests, we levy an additional charge of £25 per stay for pets.

The cottage is set back from the main road and on the edge of the village of Betws-y-Coed. A short walk of less than 10 minutes via a tarmac footpath and suspension bridge takes you to the centre of the village. You will find plenty of places to eat and drink with something to suit most tastes and budget. If you need any extra outdoor kit there is a wealth of shops offering expert advice for that “must have” kit. If you want to take a memory of your holiday back home there are two galleries in the village as well other gift shops. To make your catering on holiday as easy as possible, there are a couple of convenience stores in the village or a small supermarket in Llanrwst with a choice of butchers too. The major supermarkets can be found in Llandudno but they also offer home delivery to our area.

There is a private car park with two spaces allocated for your use. Betws-y-Coed is also well served by public transport. It is possible to travel from London by train in around 3 hours. The Sherpa bus service takes you to the many routes of Snowdon on a regular basis.
